By plane

The Vienna International Airport (VIE) in Schwechat is located about 20 km away in the south-east of Vienna. When arriving at Vienna International Airport you can choose from several possibilities to get to the city center:

- City Airport Train (CAT) (ride time: 16 minutes) to the station of Wien Mitte
- OBB Railjet/IC (ride time: 15 minutes) to the station of Wien Hauptbahnhof
- Suburban railway S-Bahn S7 train (ride time: 25 minutes) to the station of Wien Mitte

From Wien-Mitte you can take the metro line U4 (direction Hütteldorf) and exit at the second station, Karlsplatz. From Wien Hauptbahnof, you can take the metro line U1 (direction Leopoldau) and exit at the second station, Karlsplatz.

By train

You can reach Vienna with national and international trains from all directions. Trains will arrive to the main stations of Wien Hauptbahnhof, Wien Westbahnhof and Wien Meidling. From these stations you may take public transportation to the institute:

From Wien Hauptbahnhof: take the metro line U1 (direction Leopoldau) and exit at the first station, Taubstummengasse.
From Wien Westbahnhof: take the metro line U3 (direction Simmering), change at Stephansplatz to the metro line U1 (direction Reumannplatz), exit at the station Taubstummengasse.
From Wien Meidling: there are direct connections with the tram lines 62 and Badner Bahn, both in direction Oper. Exit at the station Paulanergasse.

By public transport

You can reach the institute with the metro lines U1, U2 and U4 (station Karlsplatz) and with the tram lines 1, 62 and Badner Bahn (station Paulanergasse).

By car

When arriving by car the most convenient parking lot is Tiefgarage Campus Gußhaus (daily rate is 7,90 € in 2022) entrance at Gußhausstraße 27-29, 1040 Wien.
Please note that for the entire area surrounding the conference location short-term parking applies on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 10 pm (max. parking time 1,5 hours to 2 hours; rate for 1 hour parking is 2 €).

By bus

Vienna International Busterminal (VIB) is the central arrival and departure place for international bus connections. Vienna International Busterminal can be reached easily with metro line U3 (Erdberg station).
