Optimal Systems

In mathematical optimization, an objective function is minimized subject to constraints and bounds. In the research field optimal systems, such optimization-based methods are theoretically developed and practically applied to solve various control problems. This may involve static, dynamic, and combinatorial optimization. Typical subjects of research are state and parameter estimation, model identification, trajectory planning, model predictive control, minimized use of resources, maximization of throughput, scheduling, and production planning.
