Short Curriculum Vitae


Grazia Zambella is currently University Assistant (Postdoc) at Technische Universität Wien, Vienna, Austria. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2015  and her master’s degree in Robotics and Automation Engineering in 2019 at the University of Pisa. She got her doctoral degree in Robotics and Automation Engineering from the University of Pisa in 2023 with a thesis on whole-body balancing control and recovery strategies for two-wheeled and biped humanoids. During her Ph.D., she also collaborated with the Italian Institute of Technology (Genova, Italy) and with the Research Center ”E. Piaggio” (Pisa, Italy), and she spent six months abroad at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Wessling, Germany. In 2022, she participated to the ”ANA Avatar Xprize” Competition with the team Alterego of the Italian Institute of Technology and University of Pisa.

Her current research interests include nonlinear robot control, whole-body control of humanoid robots, and teleoperation.
