Robot Learns How to Clean a Washbasin

ACIN has developed a learning robot. If shown how to clean a sink, it can imitate human motions and adapt its knowledge flexibly to different situations. The measurement data is first statistically processed, and the results are used to train a neural network to learn predefined movement elements (so-called ‘motion primitives’).

Christian Doppler Laboratory for Precision Measurements in Motion

ACIN proudly announces the start of a new Christian Doppler Laboratory.
Prof. Ernst Csencsics and his team will pursue high level application-oriented basic research dedicated to methods for enabling fast, flexible and precise 3D measurements on moving samples in challenging environments within the coming years. The research will be conducted in close cooperation with Micro-Epsilon Atensor GmbH and Micro-Epsilon Messtechnik GmbH & Co.K.G.
