The course “Foundations of Robotics” comprises a two-hour lecture to convey the theoretical principles and two laboratory exercises to deepen the theory in practice. The lecture gives a broad overview of the large field of applications and research in robotics, while at the same time convey a fundamental theoretical depth. This enables the students to understand the mechanical structure of a robot, to create kinematic and dynamic models, to describe constraints and contact transitions and to solve simple control tasks in the configuration and task space.
The documents for the lecture and the two laboratory exercises are made available in the TUWEL course.
